Asad Badat SEO Consulting

Welcome, I’m Asad.

I’m based in Durban, South Africa.  I’ve been in the industry since 2014, helping businesses and agencies grow their bottom line with no-fluff SEO and content marketing. I am selective about who I work with, preferring to take on projects I where genuinely feel I can make a business difference.

This page will give you an idea on my experience, background, what I could do for you, and the types of clients I work with.

What Asad Can Do For You

  • SEO Audits. Mini or in-depth. Extensive technical SEO investigations.
  • Data Analysis. Actionable insights from GA, GSC, and third-party data. Great for strategy.
  • Content Marketing. And whatever goes with it. Client information gathering, topic clustering, content creation.
  • Post-Migration / Post-Design Audits. Where many things tend to go wrong.

Productized Services

(Easy upsells for your agency clients – start here if you don’t trust Asad just yet)

  • Schema/Structured Data. Custom code that goes beyond most of the free plugin and free generator offerings. Great for most types of clients.
  • Tiny Link Building Package. Not your run-of-the-mill Ananzi or Cyclex citations. Healthy and varied DA/PA values.
  • Website and Email Cybersecurity Audit. Run these for corporate and ECom clients. I will advise beforehand if worthwhile or not.

What I Don’t Do

❌ Websites on porn, pills, payday loans, weight loss, insurance, gambling, food/beverage, tourism, education.

❌ PPC, Social Media, Chatbots, YouTube SEO, App Store SEO, Link Outreach, Automation Setup for Email Marketing and Funnels.

❌ Implementation for websites that contain images, videos, or icons of animate objects, or music.  Other SEO services are done for such sites, but not the actual implementation of changes (eg: adding content and schema code, fixing links, optimising meta).

❌ ECommerce SEO for brands that haven’t been online for at least two to three years.

❌ Needless meetings. I don’t use WhatsApp, Trello, Asana, Basecamp, Monday, and the like. Email is preferred.

About Asad

My formal studies was firstly (well, after biology and nutrition) in BSc Computer Science and Information Systems. Alongside, I also studied towards CompTIA and Microsoft IT credentials.

I wanted to do app development, but instead really enjoyed web development where I also did some UNISA courses to certifiy what I learnt myself on YouTube. Although I was designing websites in high school on early releases of Wix and Weebly, it took awhile to settle on WordPress post-university. (I think it was hosting and cPanel that scared me).

Whilst in web development, I took on a freelance QA position at Digivante. I can’t mention clients because of NDAs, but I worked on website and iOS QA for global, UK, and Asutralian brands, literally from day one. It was exciting to investigate massive staging websites in-and-out looking for issues ranging from broken links to getting free products due to bugs in the custom ECommerce gateway

Not only was a love for website auditing sparked that lead to an SEO interest, but I learnt practical skills in web dev, and software project management that I have never heard from any design or marketing source.

I am member of some free and paid internet marketing communities. Staying active with other SEOs does keep you on the cutting-edge of what’s actually happening in the SERPs. Only months (and sometimes years) later do the real diamonds of insights filter out from niche forums to mainstream blogs.

That said, most of my knowledge is from a few senior experts who I have followed with over the years, and subsribe to some of their paid engagements:

  • Glen Allsop
  • Charles Floate
  • Josh Bachyski
  • Rand Fashkin
  • Chase Reiner (pre-AI)
  • Neil Patel (he gets much hate nowadays, but his contrbution for beginners was invaulable a decade ago)
